 Available to any family in Essex County :

  • A Resource Library with books and videos on all aspects related to parenting and family life, with an extensive section on children with emotional/behavioral challenges - Open Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30 

  • Food shelf - Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-12 am

  • Free Children's clothing exchange - Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-12 am

  • Preschool playgroups - Staff led, every Wednesday morning, from 10-12. Parents must accompany children

  • Weekly Open Playroom - Unstructured time when parents may utilize the playroom with their child. No staff in attendance. Every Friday from 10-12

  • Parenting education workshops - As scheduled--see calendar

  • Social activities for children and families - As scheduled-see calendar

  • Recreational youth activities - Every Thursday afternoon from 4-5 pm, other activities as scheduled-see calendar

  • Weekly support group "Monday Night Bistro"- Every Monday from 5-7, excepting holidays

 

Available to families who have a child or children with emotional/behavioral health challenges and include:

  • Family Resource Center activities, as described above

  • Home visits from a Family Support Coordinator - scheduled as determined by staff and parents together

  • Strengths based planning using a partnership model between the parent and the Family Support Coordinator

  • Development and implementation of individualized goals related to parenting a child with special needs

 

Available to families who have a child or children with a mental health diagnosis, who is potentially at risk of residential placement, and include:

  • Family Resource Center activities, as described above

  • Family Support, as described above

  • Strengths based service planning with Intensive Case Manager

  • Coordination of service providers by Intensive Case Manager

  • Crisis response

  • Respite

  • Flexible Service dollars

 

Available to families who have a child or children with a mental health diagnosis, a history of previous service delivery, and an impending residential placement. They include:

  • Family Resource Center activities, as described above

  • Family Support, as described above

  • Coordination of all service providers

  • Crisis Response

  • Respite

  • Flexible Service dollars

  • Mentoring with a goal of skill building

  • Full commitment to maintaining a child at home or in their community whenever possible through the use of creative wraparound planning
